Awards

The DALLAS International Film Festival honors the best in filmmaking with a series of prestigious honors and awards. They include cash prizes, commissioned crystal awards and tributes to some of the most talented and distinguished individuals who have ever contributed to the art form.

Audience Award - Best Documentary ROCK PROPHECIES	Audience Award - Best Short LUCY : A PERIOD PIECE

	Target Filmmaker Award Awarded to a film in Narrative Feature Competition and a film in Documentary Feature Competition, as selected by the competitions' respective juries. Each winning film will receive a $25,000 unrestricted cash prize.
	Current Energy Filmmaker Award Awarded to a film in the Current Energy Environmental Visions Competition, as selected by a panel of jurors from Current Energy. This competition highlights films and filmmakers that best communicate the importance of enviromental conservation through the art of film. The winning film will receive a $10,000 unrestricted cash prize.
	Grand Jury Prize - Texas \| MPS Studios Texas Filmmaker Award Awarded to a film in the Texas Competition, as selected by the Texas Jury. This competition encourages and promotes Texas filmmaking by showing both short and feature films shot in Texas. The winning film will receive an $9,000 unrestricted cash prize and $11,000 in goods and services.
	Grand Jury Prize-Animation presented by Reel FX Entertainment and Mass Animation The Grand Jury Prize is awarded to a film in the Animation Competition, as selected by a panel of Reel FX judges along with the AFI DALLAS Texas Avery Award recipient, Henry Selick (Coraline, Nightmare Before Christmas) and special guest judge, Yair Landau (Mass Animation). Sponsored prizes for the winner include a computer system powered by an Intel® Core™ i7 processor presented by Mass Animation and Intel and an NFR copy of Autodesk® Maya® Unlimited 2009 software presented by Autodesk Media & Entertainment. Grand Jury Prize - Short Awarded to a film in the Shorts Competition, as selected by the Shorts Jury. Grand Jury Prize - Student Awarded to a film in the Student Competition, as selected by the Student Jury. Audience Awards – Narrative Feature, Documentary and Short Film Many films at the AFI DALLAS International Film Festival are eligible for an Audience Award; winners are determined by ballot vote following screenings. The winners of all the DALLAS competitions will receive production scheduling and budgeting software from Entertainment Partners.
