Family Friendly Screenings
The AFI DALLAS International Film Festival knows that movies can entertain, inspire and educate people of all ages. The Festival is particularly dedicated to the development of a program of films that speak to children and their families. This year, these programs are concentrated on the weekend of the Festival, April 4, 5 and 6.
We’ll have a full day of fun and educational activities for the whole family at both Victory Park and NorthPark in conjunction with our Family Friendly screenings on April 5.
Atom Nine Adventures

USA, 2008, 80 min.
Astrophysicist Adam Gaines and his trusty robotic assistant, Jimbot, recover a meteorite at a remote mountain location. Back at the lab, Adam and cellular biologist Margo Scott study the meteorite and learn that it contains a strange alien entity whose DNA contains a string of atoms of which the ninth and oldest one appears to be the “holy grail” of modern science – a 27 billion year old Primeval Atom. This very atom is believed to have exploded into the Big Bang that created the universe. Their discovery sets in motion a chain of events that transforms the shy, introverted scientist into a high-flying super hero.

Ice Age

U.S.A., 2002, 81 min., color
Once, when ice covered the Earth, the animals showed an altruistic bent that we haven’t seen since.
Or so that’s how director Chris Wedge’s Ice Age sees it. The touching story has the Animal Kingdom scurrying to save itself from the glacial onslaught. Even so, a dimwitted sloth named Sid, a woolly mammoth named Manny, a saber-toothed tiger named Diego, and an acorn-loving saber-toothed squirrel named Scrat are forced to become unlikely heroes. The four reluctantly come together when they have to return a human child to its father while braving the deadly elements of the impending Ice Age. The carefully crafted characters, vivid animation and heartfelt story made it an instant animated classic.
