2009 CALL FOR ENTRIES

SUBMIT YOUR FILM

 

AFI DALLAS completed a successful 2008 run in April with 271 films, more than 484 screenings and attendance of over 42,000.

In 2009, the Festival will once again span 11 days and nights and feature screenings featuring nightly red carpet entrances at theaters throughout the city, award presentations, filmmaker panels and other special events.

AFI DALLAS 2009 runs March 26 - April 5, 2009.

DEADLINES

EARLY:  OCTOBER 17, 2008
REGULAR:  NOVEMBER 21, 2008
LATE:  DECEMBER 5, 2008

All Filmmakers will be notified by February 27, 2009.

 

 

PRIZES

	Target Filmmaker Award Awarded to a film in Narrative Feature Competition and a film in International Documentary Competition. Each winning film will receive a $25,000 unrestricted cash prize.
	Current Energy Earth Friendly Award Awarded to a film in the Current Energy Environmental Visions Competition, as selected by a panel of jurors from Current Energy.  The winning film will receive a $10,000 unrestricted cash prize.
	Grand Jury Prize - Texas | MPS Studios Texas Filmmaker Award Awarded to a film in the Texas Competition, as selected by the Texas Jury.  The winning film will receive an $9,000 unrestricted cash prize and $11,000 in goods and services.
	Grand Jury Prize - Animation | Presented by REEL FX Awarded to a film in the Animation Competition, as selected by REEL FX Entertainment.
	Grand Jury Prize - Short Awarded to a film in the Shorts Competition, as selected by the Shorts Jury.
	Grand Jury Prize - Student Awarded to a film in the Student Competition, as selected by the Student Jury.
	Audience Awards Narrative Feature, Documentary and Short Film

 

GENERAL RULES AND INFORMATION

• Submissions must be postmarked by the above date to be eligible for AFI DALLAS 2009.
• Deadlines apply to ALL film categories.
  
• Features must have a minimum running time of sixty (60) minutes.
• Shorts may have a maximum running time of twenty-five (25) minutes.
• Premiere status is taken into consideration. All films must at least be a Dallas/ Fort Worth premiere.
• If your film is selected, you will be asked to provide a digital press kit which includes: headshot and filmography of the director, black and white and color stills from the film, press materials and video clips.
